ABOUT THE ROLE
Currently we are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor in Auckland or Wellington
As a HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for implementing safety practices across the company's projects and ensuring an effective and safe workplace for everyone.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide advice and support to management and employees, on all facets of HSE, ensuring company compliance
- Keep knowledge up to date with relevant legislation and HSE construction compliance
- Research regulations/guidelines in relation to HSE matters, as directed by the Group HSE Manager
- Generate, update and/or review HSE documents
- Develop safety focus, Lessons Learnt and other HSE documents
- Perform risk assessments and relevant updates to safety management system (risk register, HSE plan, etc.)
- Track subcontractor compliance
- Assist with maintaining online HSE systems and general HSE support.
- Assist with development and delivery of HSE objectives and policies
- Day to day implementation and monitoring of HSE Policies
- Perform key function within HSE Committees
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a relevant bachelor's degree.
- Previous experience in a HSE role (construction experience preferred)
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills - interpersonal, written and verbal
- Strong computer literacy skills (MS Office Suite)
- Highly developed attention to detail with the ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Advanced time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability manage multiple priorities to meet objectives
