The role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bid Writer to join our team based in our Auckland office. As the Bid Writer, you will be responsible for delivering persuasive and compelling content for exciting and challenging project across New Zealand.

You thrive on the art and science of bid writing. You are self-driven, have initiative, can work autonomously, are adaptable, can multitask and deliver multiple projects on time and to high standards. Using a customer-focused, solutions-oriented and collaborative approach, you are apt at engaging multiple stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be responsible for a broad range of activities, including creating non-price attributes and supporting business development and marketing activities to ensure the company's continued success.

  • Research, coordinate, compile, write and edit high-quality non-price attributes
  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve the Attribute Library/Database (both words and images) to enable maximum focus on value-add activities
  • Prepare quality presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Responsible for formatting and layout of all documentation in line with the company brand and style guide
  • Complete multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines while maintaining quality standards
  • Support the Marketing team to peer review and, where necessary, write marketing content
  • Contribute towards productivity and quality improvement initiatives

Skills and Experience

  • Strong (intermediate to senior-level) bid writing skills to translate operational information into clear, persuasive, compelling and customer-focused content. Shipley based training or equivalent is highly desirable, as is APMP membership and certification.
  • Knowledge and experience within a bid delivery team where you have lead submissions from kick-off to completion
  • An eye for design to ensure submissions meet brand guidelines
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, effectively prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver quality outputs
  • Intermediate to advanced skills and experience using MS Office (esp. Word and Publisher) and Adobe Creative software. Able to pick up and use new software applications that improve productivity and performance, particularly around content management and publishing applications.
